On a hot day you can visit Warnemünde, which is a 20 min ride from Rostock with a train. It is a resort town and has a beautiful beach. Yes, you heard it right. Beach in Germany! A bit bigger than Schwerin and a bit smaller than Ljubljana, Rostock is a very cute city. Or town, I’m not even sure what’s the right term. We don’t have this in Slovene, you know. Not so architecturally rich as Schwerin it makes it all up with small restaurants with home made burgers and hipster lemonades. Schwerin, the smallest capital in Germany with less than 100.000 people also has more than 30 %water surface. It has one huge lake and then several others so the air is always a but humid. There’s also a lot of water activities and of course swimming.We did only a small portion of things here but I’ll also list some other options.

Like last year, Germany tourism association asked us to explore a bit of North Germany for a week. Little towns surrounded by beautiful nature and for the end a cultural festival.
